HOPE Network publishes a free sixteen-page newspaper every quarter. It's mailed to over 8,000 single mothers, HOPE volunteers and donors, and personnel who help single mothers at Milwaukee and Waukesha County social service agencies, churches, hospitals, clinics, and schools. There are more than 5,000 single mothers on the mailing list.
In addition to publicizing upcoming events for HOPE Network single mothers, the paper also describes a wealth of Milwaukee-area parenting resources and items of interest to families. For instance, a recent issue included:
- Listings of over 100 local parenting classes
- Information on emergency food, shelter, clothing, counseling, and other help
- Free want ads section for single mothers (HOPE members only!)
- Information on several upcoming free events and other inexpensive ideas for family fun
- Games or crafts you can make with your children
- Child care information
- Column by author Gail Grenier Sweet
- Free community resources and health care locations
- Single mother achievement story
- Free educational and job training programs
