In her own words

My name is Jenna Benson. I am beginning my junior year of nursing school. I have always had a passion for the care of others—
which is why becoming a nurse has always been a dream of mine. I strive to have a positive impact on every person I meet. If I can make my patients smile and feel cared for, I will have had a successful career.

I became a single mom at the age of nineteen. When first finding out, I believed my dreams would be unachievable. I blamed myself, doubted myself, and came up with every excuse I could find as to why I could
not graduate. The moment I held my daughter in my arms I knew I would find a way to make it all work.

I have an amazing support group including my family and friends. They push me to greatness and never allow me to settle for less than I deserve.
My daughter, Baylee, has been my blessing in disguise. She is my biggest motivator and I thank God for her place in my life each and every day.

She is fourteen months old. You can find us keeping busy by taking
trips to the Zoo, exploring different parks, or heading to the library to read as many books as Baylee can get her hands on. I am so thankful to HOPE Network for this generous scholarship. HOPE Network has not only been a huge support with tuition, but also has provided me with amazing, interesting volunteer opportunities to learn about my community. Thank you!
